My unique resilience coaching method is firmly rooted in research, drawing from the principles of polyvagal theory and trauma-informed practices. I focus on somatic exercises and trauma-informed facilitation, specifically designed to tonify the nervous system through self- and co-regulation. At its core, my coaching philosophy revolves around key concepts like embodied liberation, mindfulness, and presencing.

  • Polyvagal and Trauma-Informed Approach: Resilience coaching begins with a deep understanding of the nervous system and the impact of trauma. I recognize that past experiences can shape present reactions. My counselling is additionally guided by the principles of polyvagal and attachment theories. By helping you explore and understand your own stress responses and cycles, we pave the way for healing and growth together.
  • Somatics Exercises: Embodiment holds the key to resilience. My carefully crafted somatic exercises help you connect with your body’s wisdom. These exercises are designed to release tension, restore balance, and promote a sense of safety. By incorporating movement and body awareness, and when appropriate/possible gentle manual (hands-on) manipulation, we create a foundation for lasting resilience.
  • Facilitation/Guidance: I am a highly skilled and very experienced facilitator, who guides you through a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. I support the creation of a safer and nurturing container, where you can explore your emotions, beliefs, and responses. Through empathetic listening and compassionate guidance, I help you to access resilience.

Embodied liberation is about breaking free from the constraints of past traumas and societal pressures.   • Mindfulness: Mindfulness is the cornerstone of the coaching method, backed up by nearly 20 years of Buddhist meditative practice and two-years full-time apprenticeship in the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hahn, as a monastic novice. By cultivating mindfulness, you’ll develop the capacity to observe your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without judgment or fear. This awareness empowers you to respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity and resilience.

    • Additionally, when appropriate, I will look at heart-rate variability over time and sleep quality. A prerequisite for this analysis is simply that you have a smartwatch, like a Fitbit.
    • Provided I have access to your genetic testing results, for example from 23&Me, I can make targeted recommendations for stress reduction specific to your genetic makers.
    • If stress and trauma responses are chronic, I might test and analyse cortisol levels as well.
